Maureen McAuliff: A Dance with Colours
Greetings! I’m Maureen McAuliff, a self-taught artist who finds joy in transforming heartfelt emotions into vibrant expressions on canvas. Born into a military family in Zweibrücken, Germany, in 1958, I was inspired early on by the beauty around me—especially the ever-changing dance of clouds in the sky. That sense of wonder continues to fuel my creativity today.
The Language of Colours
For me, art is a magical dance. Each brushstroke becomes a rhythm, a language that allows me to share my dreams, passion, and imagination with the world. Painting is my way of celebrating life—every colour carries meaning, every layer tells a story, and every piece reflects the essence of my soul.
Gratitude and Inspiration
I am deeply thankful for the legacy of creativity passed down by my parents, and I draw constant inspiration from my son, Emanuel, as well as my late brother Steven, my brother Alain and my sister Kathleen. Their love and encouragement remind me to always dream big and keep creating.
Art with Purpose
My work is about more than beauty; it’s about connection and hope. From commissioned paintings for medical clinics, corporate offices and private collectors to contributions for youth centres and women shelters, I believe art has the power to inspire and heal. I’ve had the honour of donating works to causes close to my heart, including the Bernadette McCann House and the Carleton Place District Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The Vision Series
In my Vision series, I invite you to unlock your potential and connect with your dreams. These vibrant, abstract pieces are designed to infuse positivity and serve as a visual board reminder of hope and aspiration. It’s my way of helping you see beyond the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary.
Where to Find My Work
I’m proud to share my art at Maureen McAuliff Art Gallery and Studio at 106 St. Patrick Street in Merrickville, Ontario, as well as the O’Connor Gallery in Gananoque. My art is also featured at the Art Hub in Carleton Place.
